Fun with LED’s and liquid nitrogen

Working in a physics department has it’s perks. Below shows an orange LED changing colour as it is submerged into liquid nitrogen.

Many thanks to my house-mate for letting me play with liquid nitrogen and try this out.

    That is cool, how did the LED not break ?

    @Bradley If you mean physically break like you see flowers etc breaking into pieces after immersing them with liquid nitrogen then it is because not all materials will become brittle enough at low temperatures that they can just break, imagine doing it with a metal rod.
